All over the hot summer months, attic space can reach temperatures as high as 150 degrees. This layer of hot air makes it harder to cool the inside of your house. Many times the upstairs of an air conditioned home alone may also be 8 to 10 degrees warmer than the downstairs. The purpose of an attic fan is to push out the entire hot air in the attic and replace it with fresh cool air from outside. With a cooler attic it becomes easier for your air conditioner to cool your home, and a lower temperature disparity between different floors in your home. The problem with contemporary attic fans, is that they continuously require a large number of electricity to run, and don’t end up saving the customer much money. A solar attic fan takes advantage of the sun to run the motor. It is pre-wired, so it is extremely easy to install, and may not run up your power bill because it doesn’t use any electricity. This means a more comfortable living area, and power savings up to 30%.
The attic fan is equipment with a 30 watt solar panel with an adjustable mount. This supplies ample power to ventilate up to 2500 square feet. The housing is made of commercial grade 14 Gauge Galvanized steel to make sure durability.
The Attic fan also includes an attic fan thermal switch. This activates the solar panel when the attic reaches 80 degrees. It’s going to also turn off once the attic is cooled to 70 degrees.
